Tesla has released new footage of its Gigafactory 1 production plant, currently being built outside Sparks, Nevada. The footage was recorded by a drone in December and provides a look at the facility’s progress since its July, 2016 opening when it was at 14 percent capacity.

The factory, now said to be at close to 30 percent of completion, will be used primarily to produce electric vehicle batteries created by Tesla and Panasonic, as well as Tesla’s Powerwall 2 and Powerpack 2. Tesla also recently announced that its Model 3 cars would be manufactured there in the coming months, as its California Fremont factory has reached its production limit.

Electrek, who covered the story, uploaded the footage to its YouTube channel. Check it out below.

As for the cylindrical building outside’s function, there are a couple of current ideas floating round: Some suggest it’s a water tank, while others claim it could be used for molten salt storage. What’s your guess? Let us know in the comments.
